U.S. Polo Assn., the brand

U.S. Polo Assn. is the official brand of the United States Polo Association (USPA), the nonprofit governing body for the sport of polo in the United States founded in 1890, making it one of the oldest sports governing bodies. With a worldwide distribution through 1,100 U.S. Polo Assn. retail stores, department stores, independent retailers and ecommerce, U.S. Polo Assn. offers apparel for men, women and children, as well as accessories, footwear, travel and home goods in 180 countries worldwide.

The sport of polo

Polo, one of the oldest equestrian sports in the world –also referred to as “The Game of Kings”– is full of thrills, teamwork, technique, and true sportsmanship. Polo originated for both sport and training, allowing nomadic warriors in Central Asia to practice their skills on horseback. The first game on American soil occurred shortly after at a field in Westchester County, and its popularity quickly spread—leading eventually to the creation of the USPA in 1890.
