Mastro Geppetto Vintage today represents one of the leaders in second-hand goods; the origins of the brand can almost be traced back to a kind of fable: it is no coincidence that the reference is to the character in Collodi’s fable.
It all began in the early 2000s when Lualdo Nettuno, after graduating from high school, started working in his grandfather’s carpentry shop, which was named ‘Mastro Geppetto’.
In 2008, he decided to take over the business and began working on restoring antique furniture. Then came the turning point after a trip to France, where Lualdo met some sellers to buy antiques. The buying block contains some Louis Vuitton bags, naturally authentic, which he returns to his shop in Torre del Greco and puts on display.
He manages to sell it in less than half a day. Hence the epiphany! The vintage market is booming and Lualdo begins to think about dealing with it full time. Initially, the two activities coexisted, until in 2013 Lualdo Nettuno decided to devote himself exclusively to handbags.
